Background:

Vermuyden School is a community school. It aims to provide the best possible education for all students so that they can 'be the best they can'. The school is very proud of its school's sporting activities and successes. There are school teams, which play in local leagues in football, hockey, netball, rugby and cricket. The school has run the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme for several years and it is very popular with its students. The School offers many opportunities for all students to take part in a musical activity. Goole music centre offers an opportunity to learn to play musical instruments. It also has an excellent reputation for drama. Vermuyden is proud of the careers and education programmes it has in place for its students. The government has placed great emphasis on this area of education due to the diversity of employment, training, further and higher education that is now available to students.
