Background:
Built in 1977, Elloughton School received a new four-class extension in 1998 and its grounds, well equipped with play equipment, boast a wildlife pond, and copse. The school has recently revamped its school library and computerised the whole system. The school offers a range of lunchtime and after-school clubs including singing, drama, recorders, band, football, netball and cricket. There are friendly and competitive sporting fixtures against other local primary schools. The school has been awarded national recognition by Sport England and holds the Activemark Gold award for the excellent sport it offers to its children. Visits are also arranged for the children to a variety of places. It works to maintain strong links with the community and local churches. The Elloughton School Association is a thriving organisation, which arranges many exciting and profitable events such as Family Fun Day, Quiz Nights, Christmas Raffle etc. The school aims to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment that encourages children to be curious and enthusiastic.
